There are some very simple nutrition mistakes, that can be corrected for free, that would take care of a lot of people’s diet difficulties. Yet millions of dollars are spent every year in helping people supposedly eat their way to health, through hundreds of various diets and allegedly new health trends. The number one enemy for losing that extra weight is sugar. “You have to be careful of the word `nonfat,’ because that usually implies more sugar,” says Larry Krug, chief executive officer of the online nutritional-consulting firm Eatwize.com. In the majority of instances ‘fat-free’ simply means the product is full of calories, because of the added sugar. Consuming lots of fruit juice is not the answer either. Laura J. Kruskall, Ph.D., R.D., an assistant professor of nutrition at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas says “People assume that juice is healthier than cola, so they’ll go ahead and drink a heap of it. Yet your average half a cup of juice equals about 60 calories”.When orange juice is consumed it converts directly to sugar Many people eat whole grain products in the wrong assumption that they are ‘eating healthy’. In fact whole grain pasta, whole wheat bread, health cereals and whole grain crackers all convert to sugar when they are consumed. The number two enemy in the battle of of the bulge is consuming processed foods. They contain loads of sugar and a wide variety of harmful chemicals, which prevent the liver from working to optimum. Conola oil, vegetable butter, fake margarine, hydrogenated oils, substitute butter, artificial sweeteners, as well as processed soy products, all assist in the retention of bad fat. Real butter, coconut oil, whole eggs, avocados, bacon, raw nuts and olive oil are all aids when it comes to burning up bad fat. Carbohydrates are vital to good health, so consuming plenty of fruit and vegetables will assist in regulating the blood sugar level and help burn up unwanted fat. Going without food is another wrong conception when it comes to losing weight. Starving the body only causes it to store what fat it already has. In order to keep blood sugar and insulin levels even, it is better to eat healthy food, small and often. Correct hydration is another important key to losing weight. This entails drinking non-caffeinated fluids before they are required, as the body often fails to sense its own thirst, until after the fact. Drinking plenty of liquids burns fat and notifies your body to lose that layer of muscle-camouflaging water it likes to hold between your skin and muscles. Susan Kundrat, M.S., R.D., of Nutrition on the Move says. “I recommend a minimum of 12 eight-ounce glasses of noncaffeinated fluids per day, plus an additional six ounces for every 15 minutes of training you engage in.” Several authorities claim that once you start to eat healthily, you will throw your body onto auto-pilot, so that it will continuously discard that unwanted fat. Eexcel – Science Discovers One More Compound
Every day science discovers another compound in a different plant that benefits the human body-lutein, isoflavones, resveratrol, oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPC), to name just a few. It’s getting rather hard for the usual consumer to keep up with all of them! Luckily, nature provides all the plant combinations we need to be well, and E. Excel Nutritional Immunology strives to make it simple to receive the wide variety of nutrients naturally found in whole plant foods. Nonetheless, all of this new and exhilarating scientific research takes significant time to duplicate, provide absolute proof, and become received nutritional doctrine-and ultimately reach the labels on food and supplement products.
The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Health Canada, have strict regulations regarding nutritional product labeling. They have established specific daily values on the commonly received essential vitamins and minerals. This RDI 1(Recommended Daily Intake) has only been established for 25 substances, and only the top 4 (Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Calcium and Iron) are required to appear on nutrition labels. The FDA has established exact specific regulations about what can and cannot appear on a nutrition label on a packaged food or dietary supplement. Health Canada has similar regulations.
The US FDA regulations can be found in Title 21- Food and Drugs. Section 101.9, paragraph (c)(8)(B)(iii), specifies rounding actions that have to be used when placing percentages of RDIs on nutrition labels: -The percentages for vitamins and minerals shall be expressed to the nearest 2-percent increment up to and including the 10-percent level, the nearest 5-percent increment above 10 percent and up to and including the 50-percent level, and the nearest 10-percent increment above the 50-percent level. Amounts of vitamins and minerals present at less than 2 percent of the RDI are not required to be declared in nutrition labeling but may be declared by a zero-.-2 Therefore, based on these strict regulations, by law E. Excel cannot indicate levels that are less than 2 percent of the recommended daily intake of the 25 recognized nutrients- even though they are present in the product. But whole plant foods contain more than just 25 essential vitamins and minerals. The principles of Nutritional Immunology emphasize the benefits of whole plant foods because of the many valuable polysaccharides, antioxidants and phytochemicals found in them. In fact, each individual plant food may contain hundreds of different compounds, and science is just beginning to realize the synergistic effects of these compounds.
Dr. Michael S. Donaldson in Nutrition Journal stated, -There are many substances that are protective in fruits and vegetables, so that the entire effect is not very likely to be due to any single nutrient or phytochemical.-3 Researching and formulating its products specifically from a whole foods approach, E. Excel creates balanced daily nutrition in forms that make it easily accessible for today’s busy, on-the-go lifestyle. This balanced, whole foods approach means you may see a smaller percentage of the RDI of a particular nutrient on a nutrition label, but that nutrient is considerably more bio-available-meaning your body is more likely to use all of what it gets to better advantage. It also means your chances of hypervitaminosis or adverse effects from chemically-extracted or laboratorymanufactured compounds are nil because we don’t add extra vitamins and minerals to our products.
They continue as nutritionally complete as nature made them. The FDA and Health Canada label requirements are designed to protect consumers and make sure that they have the necessary information to make good decisions about their food and supplement choices. Then again well intentioned, though, labels do not tell the whole nutritional story of a product, especially a whole foods product. They are only allowed to tell a exact limited and severely restricted part of that story-the part that has already gone through decades of extensive study. Who knows? Fifty years from now lutein, isoflavones, resveratrol, oligomeric
proanthocyanidins (OPC) and others may make their way to the FDA’s RDI list.
Health Juice Making Nutrition Easy
Tired of worrying about how to get the proper nutrition? It is a long and tedious process of planning out exactly what foods to eat and not eat. It would be much easier if there was a health juice you could drink and get all the nutrition of eating several different fruits and vegetables.
I am not going to lie, I have an extremely hard time planning my diet, even though I know it is something that has to be done in order to give me body the nutrition it needs. For a long time now I have been suffering day in and day out figuring out what exactly I should it as well as what not to eat. It got exhausting after a while, and frankly I figured it just was not worth all the hassle.
About this time I began searching for a way I could give my body the nutrition it needs in a quick and easy way. I started looking into health juices. Many contain vital fruits which provide nutrients my body knows and loves. Though I began to realize that very few of the juices offered all the nutrition I would hope for. They would give vitamin C or B, or some other variety but hardly enough to be what I wanted. So I refined my search even more to looking for a health juice that would give me the ultimate variety of nutrients. After awhile of searching I ran across MonaVie juice. MonaVie juice is a health drink that has a combination of 19 different fruits. Each fruit offers its own health benefits and when put together it really was exactly what I was looking for.
MonaVie juice is a little pricy but I have yet to find another product like it. It seems to be the perfect blend of fruits, and I will tell you, my body agrees. The best part about MonaVie juice is that it makes my life 10 times easier. I simply wake up drink 2 ounces and then go about my day, and that it.
Common Mistakes In Nutrition For Athletes
Many people think that athletes are examples of health and that it is strictly related to their nutrition plans and a lot of exercise. We must remember that sugar gives us energy, so small intakes of this carbohydrate will not only bring no harm, but even can be beneficial for the performance of the athlete.
Sport drinks are good only for those athletes who exercise a lot
Again, we speak about the danger of dehydration. While the total water loss due to exercises may wary depending on the type of exercises, conditions of the gym and the health status of the athlete, the possible problems caused by dehydration are so severe that there should be no restriction in drinking sport drinks, even by those who exercise for less than an hour a day.
You can lose weight when you exercise a lot
This is another common myth. Of course when we consider the water loss as loss of the weight, we may still believe in this superstition, thus endangering ourselves to dehydration. A true athlete, however, knows that every water loss must be replaced as soon as possible and the best and the safest way to loose some additional weight is by proper nutrition for athletes.
While we all want to have healthy and good looking bodies we must remember that not everyone can be an athlete. And when we finally become one of them,we should always keep in mind a single fact, only proper nutrition for athletes, free of popular, but false, beliefs and myths can let us not only stay for years in good shape but also win.
